2011!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR! January has been a gloomy snow filled icy month. We have the winter blues and are trying to make the most of our indoor time. January started off with Yia-Yia's birthday on Jan. 1st, mid January we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr Day with a peace march in downtown Columbus, late January we sadly watched the NY Jets loose the AFC championship game, and attended the kidapalooza with the Henley family. We added to our family 3 fish and 1 water frog.

Xavier, the good, the bad, and the ugly....
This month he colored a wall, himself with my makeup, and his own poop!
He drank a nice cocktail of nail polish remover!

New phrases and comments,
"I love you too!"
"The sun went down cause it was tired."
"I wanna go to Nanna's house in Utah!"
Favorite sentence, "I want chocolate milk!"

2010 YEAR IN REVIEW

2010 was an amazing year, here are some of the highlights! Xavier and I were lucky enough to take 2 Utah trips, one at the beginning of the year and one at the end. As a family we made 2 trips to the beach house in Virginia Beach. Cristin (Cosmo's sister) made 2 trips to see us in Ohio. Nana and Pa came to Ohio for Xavier's 2nd birthday. Uncle Gilbert, Uncle Pete, and Aunt Belinda came to town separately in the fall. In the first part of August Xavier started soccer. Thanks to Xavier's early swimming lessons we frequented the local pool often during the summer. We went to the conservatory to experience butterflies hatching from cocoons. Frequented the #1 zoo in America (the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium) over a dozen times. We attended many other festivals and cultural events, among our favorite the rib and jazz fest.

In March Xavier scared his mother to death, we have a very open stairwell and he decided to try and take a shortcut to the basement by going through the railing and skipping the stairs. Momma caught him as he was falling. As a same day solution we added beautiful garden fencing to our stairs. Not pretty but functional. In the Spring Xavier was diagnosed with asthma :-( Therefor our just purchased golden retriever puppy had to find a new home.

Xavier has grown and changed so much in just a year. At his 2 year check up (Sept 29th) he was 34.75 inches tall and weighed 29.4 pounds. He has an extensive vocabulary and imagination. He loves animals, trains, and dinosaurs. He is starting to dress himself and loves to brush his own teeth. He loves to play with his bff Ellis and watch Nick Jr. The last few months he has become more independent and plays by himself in his room and sleeps in his own big boy bed.

BUNNY

Little X has attached himself to this bunny like it is a lifeline. Its cute for now though.
Daddy, precious moment.

Here is a picture of my lovely hole in the nose!

So I have been horrible about keeping up on my blogging! I have decided to give up Myspace and keep this and facebook. The joys of growing up. Well I shouldn't say that because last week I found myself having a moment and I felt the need to be young and dumb. So what did I do...put a hole in my nostril! That's right a nose ring. Xavier like this new shiny thing and is trying to grab it! Xavier will be 7 months next week, wow. He loves books and knows how to turn the pages. He shows you his feet if you ask and he rolls to wherever he wants to go! He tries to walk and gets frustrated when he cant go play with the big kids. We went to the zoo a few weeks ago and he loved the snakes. Great for momma, I am not having a snake ever in my house!

Xavier's First Snow

January 14, 2009
It snowed 3 inches of fluffy beautiful snow! Xavier was not thrilled to be in his snowsuit but warmed up to the snow and kept looking up as it hit his face.

This same day Xavier went to the doctors to get his monthly RSV prevention shot. The next day he was very unhappy and sick. We found out he had been given the wrong shot. He was given a flu shot. Flu shots are not supposed to be given to children under 6 months of age and Xavier is only 3 and a half months old. So he went back to the doctors and other than being grumpy and extra sleepy for awhile we hope he will recover. That kept our weekend pretty eventful and we hope next weekend will be boring!
